Her three-pronged approach to research

  • Education consultant

Revathi approached a reputed education consultant. These consultants counsel students to find the right course, university, and destination and provide guidance related to the application process. With their assistance, she decided on a suitable duration for the course, the study program, the university, etc. She highlighted that students must emphasise the scope of their domain in the job market. They should map the job opportunities that will be available in their field post-completion of their higher education.

  • Independent research

Additionally, she carried out her independent desktop research by checking the ranking platforms to learn about the top universities and university websites to understand the course curriculum, which led her to shortlist 4 colleges. Revathi was pretty clear with her expectations about the coursework and intake. Her focus throughout the planning phase was the course structure, which ultimately enabled her to finalise the education institute and the destination. Hence, she evaluated the varsities based on her preferences, which eventually helped her select DBS.

  • Connect with alumni

She used LinkedIn to connect with alumni who pursued the same course. She gauged how their course choice has helped shape their careers. It also gave her a brief idea about the demand in the job market. Their success stories further assured her that she was on the right path.
