1. The number of student loan applicants have increased

Many people are facing financial issues as surviving in the current economic conditions is a little difficult due to the pandemic. The cost of education and other related costs are increasing. More than 15,000 students enrolled in the current academic year in Germany have taken a study abroad loan.

2. There are plenty of housing options even during the pandemic

After financing, accommodation is another major concern for international students studying in Germany. While universities across the world closed down their dorms during the pandemic, universities in Germany ensured their dormitories were safe to reside in and kept them open for international students who found it difficult to head back home. Due to this, students not only found it convenient and safe to continue residing in these dorms during the pandemic but also had various accommodation options to choose from as only 2% of dorms were shut in Germany during these unprecedented times.

3. The travel ban is not a major obstacle

Many think that during the pandemic, countries across the globe have banned the influx of international travelers. Though this is true, countries like Germany have been welcoming international students, making Germany a popular study abroad destination even during the pandemic.  According to the latest guidelines, fully vaccinated students are allowed to travel without any hassle, while aspirants who are unvaccinated need to provide an important reason to travel in order to enter Germany.  The German embassy has come up with a list of reasons that are considered valid for an urgent need for travel; the same can be easily found on the website of the German Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building, and Community.

4. Relaxed admission requirements

The majority of German universities require you to give an entrance exam like an English proficiency test, Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), American College Testing (ACT), Graduate Record Exam(GRE), Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), etc.  The institution can use this as a parameter to select the right candidates for their offered courses. However, during the pandemic, this requirement was relaxed. While some of the admission requirements are still mandatory, many others have been relaxed.  This has proved to be a great benefit for students looking to pursue their graduation or postgraduation in Germany as it has made the entire admission process swift and easy.
