GMAT is a business-focused and computer-adaptive test accepted by over 2,400 B-schools for more than 7,700 programs in over 110 countries. It evaluates skills such as problem-solving, data analytics, and critical thinking, which are considered important in academics and the business world.

GMAT Focus Edition – An updated version

GMAT Focus Edition is the updated version of the GMAT exam, and it will be available starting 1 February 2024. The exam has been updated to continue meeting the needs of B-schools and candidates. It is shorter, more efficient, and includes several new features to offer more insightful test experience to candidates and support their academic journey to business schools.

The GMAT Focus Edition comprises three sections: Quantitative Reasoning, Data Insights, and Verbal Reasoning. The content of these sections is prepared considering today’s competitive business opportunities and challenges. The pattern and syllabus of the exam are mentioned below:

GMAT 2024 exam date

GMAT 2024 exam dates are available all year round, and students can choose as per their availability and convenience. They can take the exam once every 16 calendar days. Moreover, they are allowed to attempt 5 times in a year or 8 times in a lifetime.

It is advised that students should consider university application timelines before appearing for the GMAT exam and must appear for the exam a minimum of 2-3 months before the application deadline. This will give them enough time to prepare for the exam and even reappear it if required. Visit the official GMAC website before finalising your GMAT 2024 exam date.

GMAT 2024 registration

  • Visit the official GMAT exam website for registration.
  • You must create an account by signing up.
  • After creating the account, start the registration process by clicking “Register Now”.
  • Fill in the details required for registration.
  • Pick your test mode (online or test centre), appointment date & time, and pay the registration fees to complete the process.

Kindly note that students can appear for the exam 24 hours after registration.

Preparation tips for the GMAT exam

  • Create a study plan, allocate adequate time to each section, and stick to it. Try to start preparing at least 5-6 months before the GMAT Focus Edition exam.
  • Choose your GMAT books and study materials wisely.
  • Decide your study strategy, i.e. whether you will self-study, register for an online course, hire a personal tutor, or attend a coaching class.
