Pranali had built a strong rapport with her professors during her master’s degree, and they played an instrumental role in guiding her in her academic journey planning. Also, during her master’s, she had the opportunity to access various research papers related to Microbiology. Furthermore, seminars, presentations and experiments inspired her to study this field in detail.

Why is the post-graduate work visa so popular?

Post-graduate work visa, also known as Graduate Route, allows students to stay for 2-3 years post-completion of their studies, depending on the course. Under this route, you will receive the decision within 8 weeks if you have submitted all the documents. With this visa, you can explore work opportunities, work in the UK, or be self-employed.

Why did she choose to study in the UK?

For Pranali, flying to the UK for her higher education will be like a dream come true as she had planned to study abroad while completing her undergraduate degree. Besides, the UK is one of the popular educational hubs, which assured her of quality education. At the same time, the UK, as a technologically advanced country, can give her easy access to medical equipment, instruments and tools which are crucial in her chosen domain. English proficiency test

International English Language Testing System (IELTS): IELTS is accepted by ~11,000 educational institutions worldwide. Pranali appeared for IELTS Academic, which is accepted by the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI). The exam comprises four sections: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. Pranali had joined classes for 6 months to appear for the IELTS exam. She thoroughly prepared for IELTS by diving deep into each section. It is advised to check with your university to understand which English language test you must take.

She is extremely positive about building a career in the Molecular Microbiology field. The pandemic has brought the significance of microbiology to the forefront. Considering the lucrative employment opportunities in the UK and after discussing with her family, she has decided to stay overseas for a while. Also, as she plans to pursue her PhD, she needs to stay abroad for some more years after completing her course.
