In the previous episode of the Students Speak series, we gained insights into Teja Sadineni’s university shortlisting process, the application process, the role of the education consultant and the visa application process. In this episode, let’s learn about entrance exams, his education loan partner, accommodation plans, and valuable tips for study abroad aspirants.
Entrance exams
Teja had to appear for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), an English proficiency exam and the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), a standard exam to get through the admission process for various postgraduate degrees in the USA and many other countries. He suggested that students must visit the official website of the entrance exams to learn more about the latest information, including the format, sections, duration of each section, the scores and other relevant information. Teja prepared thoroughly to clear his entrance exams and utilised the mock exams to practice. The other website he referred to is ieltsonlinetests.

His education loan partner
When asked about his experience with Avanse Financial Services, he quickly mentioned, “It happened in a blink of an eye,” referring to the disbursement of his study loan. One of Teja’s friends, who is currently studying in the US, recommended Avanse Financial Services to him. The team Avanse promptly connected with him and shared a list of important documents. They cleared all his doubts about the interest rates, documentation, loan amount, etc., through a video call. So, he never had to visit the branch office. This completely contrasts his experience with other financial institutions. He shared all the soft copies with team Avanse. He was happily surprised when his loan was disbursed in 5 days.
During the conversation, he mentioned that Avanse Financial Services was happy to do a video call to clear his doubts, whereas other financial players handed him just a PDF with all the terms and conditions. Students lack the patience to go through it, and what if students have doubts? This is where Avanse Financial Services made a big difference as it went the extra mile by connecting with Teja one-on-one to have a detailed conversation.
Accommodation plans
Teja plans to stay at the university campus accommodation. According to him, campus accommodation will cut down his travelling time and prevent delays in attending classes. He connected with a university faculty advisor to communicate his preference. The university also shared information about other accommodation arrangements and social media groups that share accommodation-related information with students who want to opt for housing other than on-campus.
His valuable tips for study abroad aspirants

  • Self-introspection is critical to understand your academic and career path. This helps you choose the perfect study program that will take your career to new heights.
  • Secondly, research all the aspects of the universities, study abroad destinations, and courses.
  • Follow your passion, and don’t choose the path based on someone else’s opinions. So, ask yourself what skills you possess and which skills you need to acquire.
  • Don’t forget to ask yourself the following questions:
  • What are my short-term and long-term goals?
  • Which study programs will help me reach my academic and career goals?
  • Which entrance exams should I clear to be eligible to secure a seat in my chosen university?
  • What is the entrance exam score required to get through the admission process?

So, this brings us to the end of Teja’s academic journey planning. We wish him all the best for his study abroad journey. Meanwhile, if you have any queries, please feel free to connect with us. We will be glad to partner with you on your academic journey. All the best!
