IELTS stands for International English Language Test System, which is a test that is designed to evaluate an individual’s hold on the English language. Speaking

This section has three parts. The first part is a face-to-face interview which could involve topics such as your home life, family, work, personal interests, plans to study abroad, and so on. The second part involves you getting a card with a topic. You have one minute to make notes on the given topic and write down your planned response. After that, you have two minutes to speak on the topic. The last part involves the examiner judging how well you have understood the topic by discussing it more in detail. Avoid memorizing your answers; the examiner will easily be able to understand if you do so, which will end up affecting your final score. Just use plain and simple language to deliver your point effectively without using any unfamiliar words that you are not comfortable with.

Writing

There are two tasks in the writing test and both of them must be completed within an hour. In the first task, you will have to describe visual information on a table, graph, diagram, or chart. Make sure to write at least 150 words in 20 minutes. In the second task, you will be given 40 minutes to write at least 250 words on a particular argument or point of view. The best way to ace this section is to keep taking practice tests and time yourself. Remember, you also need time to think about the topic. Always avoid an informal writing style and not use abbreviations but full words.
