Common FAQs On a University Application Process
As a student, it
is quite natural for you to have a lot of questions when it comes to the
application process of universities. Each educational institute would have its
own application process, which is why it is good to be prepared before you even
start applying for student loans to
let the process go by smoothly.
To help students
like you, we have compiled a list of the most common FAQs on a university’s
application process. Read on:
1. Can an application form be submitted without having to provide common entrance test scores?
There are many
universities that permit students to submit their test scores after the
deadlines. However, this would depend on the university that you are applying
to.
2. Can the documents be submitted once the deadline has passed?
Ideally, you should always aim to submit all the required documents within the given deadlines. Make sure to submit the required documents online on the university’s online portal.
3. If there are certain admission criteria that I do not qualify for, can I still submit my application?
If you are far off
from qualifying, you should shift your focus to other universities. However,
not every university is as rigid when it comes to its admission criteria, so
you can always give it a try.
4. Is it possible to get financial assistance for my academics?
Yes, of course,
there are numerous financial institutions that offer study loan plans for students wishing to pursue
their education in India as well as abroad.
5. Do universities require a hard copy of my Statement of Purpose?
Most universities
instruct students to upload their SOPs online in a PDF format. However, it is
best to check with the university about their requirements.
6. How many universities should I apply for admission to?
There is no limit
to the number of universities that you can apply to. Ideally, you should aim
for about 6 to 13 universities.
7. How long should my SOP be?
This would again
depend on the requirements of the university you are applying to. Keep your SOP
above 1000 characters and customize it for each university that you are
applying to.
8. Can I complete my Master’s course in 1 & ½ half years?
Yes, there are
many universities that offer a 1 & 1/2-year tenure for their Master’s
courses. This would also depend on the course and subjects you choose.
Now that you have
gone through these questions, you have a basic idea of the admission process of
universities. However, you should always check with the university that you are
applying to beforehand about their admission process.
