The Application Process

Visit the Consular Services Portal. Fill in the application form online and conclude the process by uploading all the required documents. Submit these documents for preliminary review.

The Preliminary Review

During this period, your details and documents will be verified. In case of a missing detail or document, the CSP will directly inform you, ensuring that you have the necessary clarity for an in-person appointment at the German mission (embassy).

In-Person Appointment

The primary purpose of the in-person appointment at the German mission in your area is to verify your identity and collect your biometric data (fingerprints and photo).

Abolition of the Remonstration Process

Previously, in case of visa application rejection, you had the option to submit a remonstration letter to the German mission, a formal complaint or appeal explaining why you thought the rejection was incorrect and to provide additional documents.

However, effective July 1, 2025, the German Federal Foreign Office has abolished the remonstration procedure for visa rejections worldwide.
