“Higher education is the strongest, sturdiest ladder to increased socio-economic mobility.” – Drew Gilpin Faust. Education enables the human capital to learn the necessary skills to increase the economy’s productivity. Union Budget 2022 primarily focused on digital learning to provide students with the digital tools and techniques to meet the need of the hour. Here’s everything that you must know about the Union Budget 2022. So, let’s dive in.

Digital University

Digital University will be a central university available in a digital mode which will be based on the hub and spoke model to provide a personalized learning experience to you. The Union Budget 2022 places a great emphasis on digital education. So, let’s understand this hub and spoke model that the Digital University will follow. This university will act as a centre or a hub that will distribute online courses to the students or spokes across India to ensure uniformity in the delivery of quality education.

The coursework will be available in various regional languages, and it will follow Information and Communication Technology (ICT) format. This will empower the students as it will allow easy access to education even from remote areas.

Digital DESH Stack e-portal

Union Budget 2022 aims to deliver skilling, upskilling & reskilling programs through Digital Ecosystem for Skilling and Livelihood, also known as Digital DESH Stack e-portal. Pandemic has only highlighted the existing skill gap across the industry. It will provide online training to Indian citizens to make them career-ready. This e-portal is not just limited to the young learners, but professionals too can benefit from it.

1 Class 1 TV Channel:

During an unprecedented health crisis, the school closure led to a huge learning loss. The Union Budget 2022 has come up with an innovative way to counter this gap in the education ecosystem. The existing PM eVidya – One Nation One Digital Platform program aims to deliver education to students via television. The Budget announcement has increased the TV channels from 12 to 200 which will be available in several languages. This will be a boon to students who do not have access to the internet. The e-learning platform will be able to reach the students in semi-urban and rural areas too.

E-passports

The announcement of e-passports brings a big relief to study abroad students. These passports will have embedded chips and will offer robust security features. The e-passport comes with a technology that will store the digitally signed personal details of the students. This facility will ensure a higher degree of convenience to study abroad students.

Agriculture education

The Union Budget 2022 aims to revise the coursework followed by Agriculture University. The syllabus will be designed to meet the need of modern-day farming. The aim is to incorporate natural, zero-budget and organic farming related coursework.

Drone-As-A-Service (DrAAS)

The government aims to support the entrepreneurs to develop and strengthen the drone industry. Hence, the Union Budget 2022 focuses on the Drone Shakti scheme that will help strengthen the drone industry. Therefore, various skilling programs will be commenced through Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) to provide the necessary skills.

The Union Budget 2022 has opened up new avenues for various skills to be developed to further support the country’s economic development. For instance, Battery Swapping Policy intends to improve efficiency in the EV ecosystem. However, in order to implement these new announcements successfully, people will have to invest in learning new skills.
