The global spread of COVID-19 has impacted all domains of our livelihood. If you are planning to study in India, you must be concerned about the competitive exam which help you to get admission in the institutes. If you are trying to figure out the revised dates and mode of the exams, this article is going to answer a lot of your queries in terms of the ‘new normal’ rules for the tests.



National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET):

The Union Minister of Human Resource Development (HRD), Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank announced that the examination will be conducted on July 26th, 2020, in pen and paper-based mode which was originally scheduled for May 3rd. The admit cards for this exam will be made available on the official website of NTA NEET. Eligible candidates who had filled the application forms within the set deadline will be issued the admit card. Registered candidates can make corrections in their particulars as well as in the choice of centre cities till May 31st, 2020, up to 5:00 PM and the fee can be paid up to 11:50 PM. Joint Entrance Exam Main (JEE Main):

Keeping in mind the circumstances caused by the outbreak of COVID-19, National Testing Agency (NTA) has decided to give an opportunity for interested candidates to submit afresh or complete the online application form for JEE (Main) 2020. This facility will be available on the website (https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/webinfo/public/home.aspx) from May 19th to May 24th, 2020.

The submission/completion of online application form will be accepted till 5:00 PM and the fee can be paid till 11:50 PM. The JEE (Main) will be conducted from July 18th to July 23rd, 2020. The dates are July 18th, 20th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd at various centres across the country.

Joint Entrance Exam Advanced (JEE Advanced):

JEE Advanced or the IIT JEE 2020 will be conducted on August 23rd. Its online application will commence post the final results of JEE Main 2020 are announced. As the entrance exams are being rescheduled across the country, the start of new sessions in engineering and medical colleges will be delayed as well. The exact dates have not been announced yet.

Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Examination (JNUEE):

The application window for this entrance exam has been extended. Interested candidates can apply online for this till May 31st, 2020. To apply online please click here. You are advised to check the eligibility criteria prior to applying for this test as it offers a wide range of courses and the eligibility criteria for each course is different than the other. The revised dates for the exam will be announced soon.

Common Admission Test (CAT):

Whether you choose to study in India or abroad, most universities will require you give this entrance exam. The tentative date for CAT 2020 is November 29th. The notification release is expected to be released by IIM during the fourth week of July 2020. The registration process will also start around the same time and will continue till the fourth week of September. CAT mock test and official tutorials will be released during the second week of October and applicants will receive the admit card during the third week of the same month.

Management Aptitude Test (MAT):

MAT, which is organized by All India Management Association (AIMA) has been rescheduled for June 14th, 2020 (Paper Based Test) and June 21st, 2020 (Computer Based Test). From this MAT onwards the organizer has introduced “Remote Proctored Internet Based Test (IBT)’ along with the PCT and CBT so that candidates can take this exam from the comfort of their homes. National Council for Hotel Management Joint Entrance Examination (NCHM JEE):

The facility for correction in the online application form has been made operational on its website from May 16th to May 22nd, 2020. It will be accepted till 5:00 PM and submission of fee can be done till 11:50 PM. If additional fee payment is required depending on the changes made in the form, it will be reflected after the initial payment is done. National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA):

Keeping in mind the current crisis, the Council of Architecture has decided to reschedule the examination. The revised dates for the First Test and the Second Test are August 1st, 2020 and August 29th, 2020 respectively. The NATA portal will be reopened soon to allow candidates to register for the test and the candidate correction window will also be available on the website.

Open Management Admission Test (OPENMAT):

The facility for correction for OPENMAT in the online application is available on the website from May 16th to May 22nd, 2020. Candidates can go online and make necessary corrections. If additional fee payment is required depending on the changes made in the form, the candidate can do the same till 11:50 PM of the last date. The date of the examination will be announced soon by the organizer.

AIMS Test of Management Admissions (ATMA):

The application date for this exam has been extended till May 23rd, 2020. The last date for registration and fee payment is May 23rd, while the last day for printing application form and downloading admit card is May 24th. But the examination date has not been changed as it is Computer Based Test. It is still scheduled for May 24th, 2020. The result of this exam will be announced on May 29th, 2020.
